The SANDBOX Santa Barbara was launched in January of 2017.  The idea was years in the making, arguably going back to the youth basketball courts of Goleta in the 80s. Founders Mark Schulbach and Kyle Ashby grew up on the central coast and have been doing business and bringing people together in town since their early days at UCSB as college athletes, scientists and film makers and musicians.

Flash forward, and the team now consists of many Santa Barbara area entrepreneurs, investors, educators and businesses and THE SANDBOX has become the premier event space and community for creative, lifestyle focused and tech entrepreneurs, small businesses, non profits and remote workers who want to get things done and get outside to enjoy their time with family, friends, community and the amazing central coast we call home.
